SO YOU WANT to LIVE in COSTA RICA the Adventures, Trials and Tribulations of Settling in Paradise by Gary Davis – plumitapacifica.com

This is the continuation of a series of posts on my blog to promote the e-book SO YOU WANT to LIVE in COSTA RICA – which is a Guide to… the Adventures, Trials and Tribulations of Settling in Paradise… This is a guide book that will give you the kind of insider’s knowledge that you might wish you had before you made your decision to move or not move to Costa Rica.

Every blog entry will start with the appendix because that way when you read whatever else I have posted it will 1. make sense (I hope) and 2. give you a point of reference in case you realize you need to read something that is “archived”.  Because if you read every blog I enter you will have eventually read the whole e-book and won’t need to order it for $2.99 from Amazon or B&N.  All you’ll be missing are the photos that show what you might expect if you choose to undertake the Adventures, Trials and Tribulations of Settling in Paradise.

As I said, I will start each blog with the appendix so that the reader can reference important elements of the book to archived blogs.  The page numbers shown are the actual page they appear on in the book. Here is the Appendix – and these are all the nuggets and their corresponding page numbers:

chapter 18 continued

So here I am, as you can imagine, getting bored with watching this routine bull after bull when finally a bull does what you might imagine a bull would do when he’s had enough of this bull sh…   He drops down on his front knees and simply refuses to move.  It was hilarious.   All these macho guys are now pushing and pulling trying to get him up.  He’s not moving.  And who has joined this crowd of macho’s… Sonia.  She’s right where you’d expect… as close to his balls as he/she can get, pushing.  That explained the tennis shoes.   She stayed in the ring for a couple more bulls and ran around taunting but never got close enough to get the bulls attention.

Then, there’s the big bad bull they send in without a rider because he has earned the reputation.  And at this particular fiesta I had the horrifying opportunity to witness how he got the bad rap.  They announce who each bull is and when they’re going to send in one with no rider everyone in the ring is forewarned.  So here this guy comes charging in and it’s obvious he’s only got one thing on his mind and that is to get someone!  Sure enough he singles out one guy, distractions don’t work, he catches up to the guy, throws him up into the air, is ready for him when he hits the ground, gets in a couple good gouges and a trample and is then finally distracted and takes off after someone else.  They carried that macho out.  Nobody else would get close enough for him to get so the cowboys came in and did their lasso thing.
